We represent state and local laboratories that monitor, detect and respond to public health threats—this includes public health, agricultural, environmental and other related laboratories, known collectively as public health laboratories.
We shape national and global health outcomes by promoting the value and contributions of public health laboratories and continuously improving the public health laboratory system and practice.

For full-time positions, our complete interview process consists of a phone screen and two interviews. Please note that candidates may fallout at any stage of the process.
Offers are delivered as soon as possible after reference and background checks are completed—typically seven business days after the interview. No Interest letters are sent on a weekly basis.
Working at APHL
APHL is a membership organization based out of Bethesda, MD, but is a remote-friendly operation and has staff based across the continental US. APHL has twice been named a Top Workplace by the Washington Post.
Typical hours of work are 8:30 am – 5:30 pm Monday
through Friday, but may vary dependent upon needs of position, team or organization.
The expectation is that colleagues will be flexible with the days of the week that they are scheduled to work. For eligible employees, when feasible we offer alternative work schedules and the opportunity to work from home.
