What APHL Does

Strengthening Laboratory Systems Worldwide

APHL works with countries around the globe to build strong and resilient national laboratory systems. APHL supports and coordinates the US national public health laboratory system that serves the 50 US states. With 75 years of experience managing public health laboratory programs, we apply our expertise to serve national laboratory systems across the globe. APHL supports initiatives such as President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS ReliefGlobal Health Security Agenda and beyond. 

What APHL Offers

Support and Guidance for National Health Systems

APHL provides technical assistance, training, leadership and management fellowship programs and tools for laboratory professionals at all levels of a national system. By working with APHL, national systems can gain knowledge, skills and abilities in policy development, strategic and implementation planning and project management, as well as training in methods for laboratory leaders and bench staff from point-of-care testing to advanced molecular methods, such as next generation sequencing.
