Cannabis Testing
The environment surrounding the regulation of medical and adult use cannabis is rapidly evolving. Many states and state laboratories collect information about the quality of products available for legal sale to assist patients and consumers in making informed decisions and to ensure the products sold meet the state standards for contaminants.

State Cannabis Programs
The bulk of routine cannabis testing is performed at commercial laboratories with select government laboratories performing advanced and reference testing. To help states understand the variety of cannabis programs and efforts across the country, APHL collects jurisdiction-specific information to provide a snapshot of activities in each state.
APHL Cannabis Community of Practice
The APHL Cannabis Community of Practice is both an online message board and monthly teleconference focused on facilitating communication among government laboratories and their public health partners. The Community of Practice meets bimonthly to discuss issues, concerns, strategies and best practices. Subject matter experts are invited to present on topics of interest to the community.
Those interested in joining the Community of Practice should send an email to [email protected] with "Cannabis CoP" in the subject line.
